In order to increase the quantity and quality of CISME services, specific research and development areas were identified from which work groups were set up. These teams formed by researchers, technicians, interns and Fellows of CISME generate and apply updated knowledge for the development of new electronic microscopy methods of interest to our users, so we also call them Service Incubators.
EMMA: Electron Microscopy for Medical Applications. Develops and offers electron microscopy methods with application in medicine. Ex: biopsies.
SERAFO: Environmental and Forensic Services. Develops and offers electronic microscopy methods for application in environmental and forensic issues. Ex: Determination of the presence of bullet firing traces in samples taken from the skin and clothing.
GEOSEM: Scanning Electron Microscopy in Geology. Develops and offers electron microscopy methods for application in geological studies. Ex: Methods for mining and hydrocarbon prospecting.
BiDA. Bioimaging Data Analyzes. It develops and offers methods of analysis of image data generated by electron microscopy together with organized and systematized databases. Ex: Development and enhancement of the CISME Digital Repository (ReD-CIME) .
NANOBIO. Application of electron microscopy methods in nanobiociencias. Ex: Development of negative staining methods for the visualization of single particles by TEM.
INMICRO. Application of electron microscopy methods for Microbial Engineering. Ex: Development of methods for the ultra-structural study of microorganisms with biotechnological potential: Microorganisms such as nanofactories.
